December Students of the Month

at Spearman High School

The December Students of the Month at Spearman High School are seniors, Alayna

Schneider and Max Wright.

Alayna is the daughter of Schane and Dana Schneider and Brianne Wilson. Her siblings include:

Riley Bliss Wilson and Zane, Savannah, and Dax Schneider. Alayna is active in Hansford

County 4-H, Lynxette Varsity Golf, National Honor Society, Green Cord program, and Student

Athletic Training. She is currently serving as the 4-H Vice-President and she is active in livestock

judging, showing pigs, and 4-H educational presentations. Alayna has been named Academic

All-District in golf and as a trainer in additional athletic programs, was named the Top Student of

the Year in Principles of Human Service, was named the 2024 Miss Teen Hansford, and has been

a district winner in 4-H judging and education presentations. Most recently, Alayna was named

Academic All-State 2 nd Team for athletic training during football. She has also been listed on the

All A Honor Roll throughout high school. Alayna is currently a student within the Health

Science Program of Study and she will complete her Certified Nursing Assistant Industry Based

Certification this year, as well. In her spare time, Alayna enjoys hanging out with friends,

listening to music, playing golf, taking care of her pigs and taking naps. Her future plans include

attending Abilene Christian University to major in biology and then attend medical school. The

thing Alayna likes best about Spearman is, “I like the supportive community of Spearman. The

small town has lots of support for the schools.” When asked to describe her senior year in three

words she states, “Challenging, resilient, and insightful.” The event Alayna most looks forward to

is graduation because she is ready to move onto the next chapter of her life. Alayna’s most

influential teacher during her school years is Mrs. Shelby Reagan.

Max is the son of Brandon and Chelsie Baker. He has a younger sister, Cana Baker, and a

younger brother, Boone Baker. While in high school, Max has been involved in Spearman Lynx

football, track, tennis, National Honor Society, Student Council, Green Cord program, and First

Baptist Church Youth. He has been listed on Honor Roll throughout high school, was named the

Football Player of the Week in September, received the Football Offseason Award in 2022, and

was named All-District Honorable Mention Cornerback in 2024. Max has also been named

Academic All-District in football, track, and tennis, and most recently, was named Academic All-

State Honorable Mention in football. In his spare time, Max enjoys working at Five Star

Equipment with his grandfather and step-dad, and spending time with his friends and family. His

future plans include attending Texas Tech University and pursuing a degree in Business

Management. The advice Max has for underclassmen is, “Live in every moment. Be a young

buck while you can.” His senior year in three words, “Arduous, thrilling, and expeditious.” The

event Max is most looking forward to this year is competing in tennis this Spring with his cousin

Matt. Max’s most influential teacher during his school years is Mr. James Layman.
