Superintendent, Dan Gist, welcomed the staff today at the New Staff Orientation.


The Lynx to Learning Academy had a great day of training on Thursday. They covered topics that included Being an Effective Teacher, The First Days of School, Managing the Classroom, and Being a Professional Educator.

Football Parent Meeting scheduled tonight will be held in the HS Auditorium instead of the Fieldhouse - 7:00 p.m.


Sophomores may pick up their 23-24 schedules and check out their device today from 8:30-11:30 at Spearman High School. Any junior or senior who needs to pick up their schedule and/or check out their device may come to school from 8:30-11:30, as well. The online registration must be complete in order to pick up their schedule and the technology form will need to be turned in to pick up their device. There are computers available at the high school for any parent needing to use a device to complete the online registration. We are looking forward to seeing everyone today!

We are happy to see all of our seniors this morning as they pick up their schedules and check out their device for the 2023-2024 school year. Remember: online registration must be completed on the Parent Portal and students must have the technology form completed to check out their device. Computers are available at the high school for any parent who needs access to a computer to complete the online registration. Seniors: 8:30-11:30; Juniors: 1:00-4:00; Sophomores: Friday, 8:30-11:30. We are planning on having a fantastic year at Spearman High School!

Parents of junior and high school football players are required to attend a meeting on Friday, 8/04/23 at 7 pm. The meeting will be held at the Meddock Field House.


Spearman ISD Announces Elementary Assistant Principal
Cayla Schroeder has been named Gus Birdwell Elementary (GBE) Assistant Principal. Schroeder started her career at Spearman ISD thirty years ago. She student taught at GBE in first grade with classroom teacher, Cindy Clyburn, and she was hired to teach third grade after graduating from Oklahoma Panhandle State University the following semester. Schroeder taught third grade for several years before moving to second grade where she worked until being promoted to the assistant principal position.
Schroeder has served on multiple committees over her thirty years in education. She was instrumental in planning and implementing Balanced Literacy in grades kindergarten-third grade nearly twenty years ago, and the program continues today. She has served on the District Improvement Education Team, Campus Improvement Team, Results Driven Accountability Team, E-Club, and Teacher Incentive Allotment Committee. While she was working on her master’s degree, she organized and named the startup of an after-school program, Homework Hangout, for students in the English as a Second Language program.
Mrs. Olmos, GBE Principal, shared, “I am eager for Mrs. Schroeder to share her literacy experience with the staff. It is great to have someone who has invested thirty years in the district help lead the students and staff to success.”
“I am excited about the experience Mrs. Schroeder will be bringing to the team,” stated Superintendent, Dan Gist.

*UPDATE* The Cheer camp provided by the SHS cheerleaders will be moving the camp location to the rubber gym at the Junior High. The camp will still be from 9:00-11:30 am tomorrow and Thursday. Please enter the southeast gym door by the new parking lot.
